If you are new around here I thought I'd make a page to sort of explain what we're doing right now in the adoption process. Here is a brief timeline so far:
May 2007 - My first time hearing of a close friend of mine adopting
2007-2009- Seeing firsthand everything that international adoption is and my eyes being opened, I mean REALLY opened and my heart was broken, for the first time, to the fatherless.
July 6, 2009- Lincoln was born!
February 2011 - Asked by a friend if interested in adopting a baby to be born in June at their church.....didn't work out
End of Feb. 2011 - Asked by another friend if we would consider adopting a baby to be born in July.....didn't work out
March 9, 2011 - Met this precious 8 month old boy currently in foster care. His foster mom and I have mutual friends (that's how we met) and was asked if we would be interested in adopting him if it comes to that.
March 10, 2011 - We put our "yes" on the table once again and started pursuing the adoption of this little boy
March 12, 2011 - Tyler met Baby J
March 26, 2011 - Started Foster/Adoptive Parenting classes (12 total, 36 hours)
April 19, 2011 - Start Homestudy
June 25, 2011 - Done with Homestudy, now just wait for licensing
July 26, 2011 - Offically licensed in Foster to Adopt!
August 3, 2011 - Told our new support worker we were interested in adopting Baby J and that I'm pregnant!
September 21, 2011 - Our hearts ache as we found out the adoption of baby J isn't going to happen for reasons outside our control.
December 15, 2011 - Caedmon is born!
January 2012 - start praying about how God wants to grow our family
