It's SO stinkin' fun to watch things click as my boys learn. Lately Lincoln is and has been discovering that all the letters he's learned are everywhere we go. It's so fun to see where he sees them. This particular night he was finding t's and x's in our tile :)
And another one just because...

DUDE!
Thank you "Finding Nemo" and Tyler for teaching my son that a turtle says, "Dude!"
It's quite cute but I'm foreseeing his first day of Kindergarten and the teacher shows a picture of a turtle,
my son raises his hand and tells the whole class that turtle's say, "dude!"
That teacher is gonna think his parents are nuts.
Oh well....we are kinda nuts.
Oh and if Lincoln ever comes up to you and hits his head against yours, that's him doing "noggin" like
the turtle's do on "finding nemo."
Sorry in advance if it hurts, his father, again, taught him that one and he's only supposed to do that to daddy but I've gotten a couple noggin's along the way.

So for Halloween this year, Lincoln of course, got to be a turtle. He wasn't so sure about it at first because the costume I ordered doesn't really look much like a turtle except the shell on the back but since it was green and green is his favorite color, he agreed to wear it! phew!
We started out our Halloween with a playgroup party with Lincoln's little friends.
We played with lions, monkeys, giraffes, fairies, pumpkins and even a football player and got our first fill of sugar highs for the day.
Later for trick or treating we went over to our friends house and Lincoln and daddy went with their three boys and Dan trick or treating while Megan, baby brother and I stayed at the house to hand out candy.
Baby brother even got to come out for the evening and wave to everyone! :)
My little turtle
And me with my two boys!
Before trick or treating and my turtle has found a sucker already!
The ninja and the turtle
Clark Kent, a pirate, a ninja and a turtle ready to go get some candy!
Tyler said Lincoln did a pretty good job and even said "trick or treat" and thank you at each house!
The boys were so excited that they ran to each house and since Lincoln is slow (and so are turtles, how fitting huh?) he went to every other house.
Here's a little video Tyler took on his phone of my little cutie :)

trains deliver food? they do here!
We got to eat at a restaurant called Fritz's for the first time. It's a "diner" type of restaurant (with very yummy chocolate shakes!) but the really fun part is that a train delivers your food to you. You sit at the booth, call in your order and a train makes it way around the track with your order and drops it on your tray. I wasn't quick enough with my camera so I didn't get the actual "drop off." Lincoln was in heaven. He loved watching all the trains. Not surprising to anyone, he didn't get more than two bites of his meal he was so distracted :)
we all enjoyed wearing Lincoln's engineer hat
And the train ride that Lincoln didn't like....

Our Sunday in video, thanks to Trey
So my brother, Trey, is here visiting us from Nashville during his Fall Break. He's doing this "Vlog Every Day of October" thing and so we got the unfortunate experience privilege to be in it and probably will continue to until he leaves. Here is his video from Sunday.
It includes:
Lincoln and I's ritual every morning during breakfast during October, of watching Uncle T-Rey's videos. Lincoln LOVES, LOVES, LOVES watching them!
The best way to get a lot of food from chipotle
The fact that I can't say the word, "rural"
Us making homemade laundry detergent - it looks kinda gross when it's in the gelatin form! I was embarassed that Trey was putting this on there.
Our visit to Lake Erie
And the end is during the time that uncle Trey got to babysit Lincoln while Tyler and I met with our mortgage lender (yes we bought a house!!)
Enjoy :) (scroll down to the bottom of my blog and pause the music so you can hear the video)

we have a jumper!
Lincoln's new thing has been to climb up on things and jump off. I know, I know you're thinking, "holy cow, dangerous!" but don't worry I'm not letting him climb up on chairs or the couch or anything and jump off. He's been climbing on daddy, while daddy's laying down and jumping off of Tyler's chest and jumping off of his spiderman car. He's getting pretty good! Here are a couple videos :)
Lincoln had so much energy this night. He was seriously bouncing off the walls! I promise I don't feed my child tons of sugar so I'm not sure what his deal was that night, but it sure was funny!
Lincoln got to play with his friend Lucas the other night. They had lots of fun together and Lincoln spent a good 10 minutes or so jumping off his spiderman car and laughing hysterically!
I taped this in the middle of our "Farkle" game so that's the noise you hear in the background and yes I know my living room is ALL brown. I need to add some more color :)

the purple people eater!
So today, I set my old loofa on the floor in the bathroom because it's old and I need to throw away and Tyler noticed that Lincoln was side stepping around it and was making some weird noises as he was trying to get away from it so we got the camera out!
He did get a little scared of it at one point in the video but all the rest of the times I think he's making that crazy sound to try and scare the "purple people eater" away! We were laughing so hard! Don't worry though, Lincoln took care of the "purple people eater" with his truck. :)

mommy and daddy's shoes
Here are a couple videos of Lincoln lately. Thought the Grandparents, aunts and uncles might be suffering from Lincoln deprivation and we can't have that, can we? :) Unless your related to the L man these will probably be boring videos. Lately, Lincoln is loving playing with our shoes either by wearing them or carrying them around or even taking them up the stairs and then proceeding to throw them down the stairs and then repeating several times (see second video). So that's what these two vidos are of. Enjoy! :)

[wipe]out
No, don't worry nobody faceplanted into the ground or anything like that.....sorry if you were looking forward to a funny video about an actual wipeout. [wipe]out is just my attempt at a clever title to this blog post (you'll understand more when you watch the video), which speaking of blog posts, this is my 250th post! Now talk about a HUGE milestone. I was starting to feel like a pretty big loser lately since I've literally accomplished NOTHING in the last month but at least I can say that in the month of November I accomplished hitting my 250th post. (If you can't tell, I'm being extremely saracastic).
But all joking aside, I have had a very hard month or couple of months in all I guess. I've been pretty much laid up on the couch for multiple reasons and have had to try to entertain my VERY active toddler with anything and everything I can think of that didn't involve me getting up very much. My amazing hubby, though through it all has been so great to me and completely steps up and takes on my everyday tasks [laundry, cooking (well sometimes, we had a LOT of take out), cleaning, dishes, diapers, nose wiping and everything else that I just couldn't do] and held me when I just needed comfort. He is so strong and has such a solid faith. I would like to say I have an unwavering faith in all circumstances as well but I fail miserably in comparison. He keeps me grounded and when I'm asking the "what ifs" and the "whys" he's there to remind me that God's plan is not our own. I'm so thankful to be married to him. :)
It's been awhile since Lincoln has gotten into the diaper bag and emptied it (he used to do this a LOT) and so when he found it and started taking everything out, I figured, eh why not? It'll keep him busy for at least 20 minutes. Well what I thought would be 20 minutes almost turned into an hour of fun for him. He found the wipes that I keep in my diaper bag and figured out how to open them. At this point I usually would've stopped him and we would've put it all away and found something new to play with but since I wasn't feeling well I just let him proceed to take almost all the wipes out and lay them on the kitchen floor. Good thing I like couponing and almost all of the wipes that I get are basically free because he completely emptied all the wipes. After he had about half of them out of the container, he then got the brilliant idea to pick one up at a time and throw it away in the kitchen trash can. He's just recently discovered it and he LOVES throwing everything away.....we better be careful or he'll throw away something valuable (our friends, Justin and Lesley found that their sweet daughter Jordan had thrown away a $50 bill once while we were over there for supper!)
Anyways, this video is over 3 minutes and I'm probably the only one who thinks is just so cute to watch it for that long. He does the same thing for the whole 3 minutes just fyi :) Oh and notice that he has one shoe on? That's by his choice....as he finds his shoes (they are never in the same spot) he brings it to me to put on him. In the video he had only found one the his shoes :)
I hope you all have had a great Thanksgiving full of family, friends, food and fun! As much as we really wanted to be back with our families for Thanksgiving we are extremely grateful for the people God has put in our lives. They invited us "strays" into their home for Thanksgiving and we had so much fun!
Not being able to see family this week has made me that much more excited for Christmas!!! We all will be back for a week and then Wichita bound for New Year's Eve and Lincoln and I get to stay until January 11!!! (wow I said "and" a lot in that sentence) Might as well get our money's worth out of those expensive plane tickets, right?
Oh and on a very much side note, I'm getting the crafting itch. I have a couple ideas of things I want to do and IF I end up doing them I'll make sure and blog about it :) Can't decide if I'm starting to want a sewing machine or not? Will it get used enough to justify the cost? Will I have the patience to learn? Will I overcome my fear of sewing my finger again like I did in Home Ec class in 7th grade? I'll keep ya posted.....
