Papa and Grandma come to visit!

Harvest got done SUPER early this year and so Tyler's parents were able to come visit us this past weekend!  It also happened to work out that we were able to have Caedmon dedicated at church while they were here.  We've gotten used to family not being able to come to all of those types of things because they are so far away, but it was sure nice to have them here for it!

Our kiddos are sure lucky to have such amazing Grandmas and Papas.  Since they've left Lincoln keeps saying things like he wants Grandma or he wants to show Papa something, or he wants to get on an airplane and go to Nebraska :)  Me too, buddy, me too.

Flying Caedmon!

Lincoln really, really liked the new puzzle Grandma and Papa brought him, I think he put it together 50+ times while they were here

morning snuggles with papa

and now Grandma's turn :)

Brothers cruisin' around together at the Children's Museum

this rain jacket did nothing to keep him dry....next time I guess we need to put it
on him backwards.

I think daddy had just as much fun as Lincoln, playing with the water :)

 "watch this!"

"you see Hurricane Sandy is going to hit this area hard in 3 days and we will have Lake Erie
in our back yard..."
I should become a weather-woman, I predicted this storm WAY before it happened :)

Back massage anyone? :)

It was such a fun weekend and it went way too fast!  Lincoln cried the whole way home
from the airport after we dropped them off on Monday.  Breaks my heart.
But we will see them again in less than two months at Christmas.  And it also helps that
Aunt Kelsey is coming for 6 days starting tomorrow!  We are excited to see her!

"kelsey, come play cars!" -lincoln

{get ready for photo overload!}

lincoln and caedmon's aunt kelsey came to spend part of her
spring break with us last week.  it was so fun having
her here and we're sad that she'll be graduating in may (not that she's graduating, we're happy and proud of her of course!) but that means so more spring breaks for her to come and visit :(
that is, unless she starts teaching, then maybe she'll get some longer breaks :)

we're super honored that she chose us over other options for her spring break.  it's clear in the pictures below, that lincoln LOVES his aunt kelsey.  her name was the first and last words spoken out of his mouth as he woke up and went to bed.
he was so excited when we took her to the airport, but only because he didn't quite understand and thought we were all going with her on the airplane.  there were lots of tears shed. and the whole next day he kept asking where she was.

it's so hard to explain to a 2 year old how his aunt can be there all day every day for 5 days and then gone :(

but he LOVES going to the airport now because that means he gets to see a family member....since almost everyone who visits us has to fly.

so here's a glimpse into our time with kelsey...

his matter-of-face face

unfortunately both lincoln and caedmon were sick the entire time she was there.  so a lot of our plans went out the window.  we felt so bad that most of our time was spent at home taking care of sick kiddos.  kelsey didn't mind though, she "goes with the flow" extremely well, thankfully :)

we played a lot of board games in the evenings....this particular night, caedmon was enamored with kelsey and just kept staring at her!

"kelsey, come play cars"
"come play tunnel, kelsey"
"kelsey, come play trains"
"kelsey, come play...."
and the list goes on and on.
you must be prepared, if you come visit, lincoln will have you busy the whole time....playing with him of course :)
tunnel time...

after lincoln started feeling a little better and before caedmon got sick, Tyler took a vacation day on monday and we went to the zoo!  it's always so fun to see lincoln and how he reacts to seeing the animals.

the zoo should really have a dress code...
besides the man in pajama pants behind tyler and lincoln, there was a mom there with her family in a stapless, VERY short dress and high heels.  guess I didn't realize that the zoo was a formal event?

finishing by of course....playing more cars!
kelsey, we LOVED having you!  so glad it's only less than 2 weeks until we see you again at Easter!

the past couple weeks....

The past couple weeks things have been a bit crazy around here.
It's like we had a baby or something and our lives turned upside down overnight :)
We've had family here off and on for 2 1/2 weeks and more on the way!
So here is a quick recap...

So my mom flew out here and arrived right after Caedmon was born.  She stayed and helped us out and a week later my Dad and Trey drove out to both see Caedmon and be here with us for Christmas.
Papa Jay holding his second grandson, Caedmon Jay :)

Lincoln got in some good wrestling with my dad

Lincoln coming down the stairs Christmas morning to open his presents from Tyler and I

Opening a couple "fres-ents"
Doesn't uncle Trey look thrilled to be up before 11am :)

every morning since then he has woken up asking to "open fres-ents?"  I should just start wrapping up his toys since he just loves the opening part and doesn't care if it's a new toy or not.

Daddy playing with Lincoln's new spiderman figurine
Tyler was super excited to pick out Lincoln's first super hero figurine for him :)

Grandma Hunni snuggling her baby before they had to leave :(

Then we had a couple days of just the 4 of us before Tyler's parents arrived.

Tyler's parents meeting Caedmon for the first time!

Lincoln got to open more presents from Grandma and Grandpa.  One of them required daddy to get out his tools so Lincoln rushed to get his own tools to help, it was adorable.

Grandma and Grandpa R with their TWO grandsons!

And then I can't believe I didn't get any picture while Tyler's sister, Kelsey was here!  That's what happens when you are sleep deprived....
Kelsey was here for 3 days - it just so happens that her soon to be hubby's family lives just an hour away from us so they were here anyway to see them for Christmas.
She was planning to come see us while they were here anyways and it just worked out that Caedmon was here already and she got to meet him too! :)  We love having Aunt Kelsey come visit!  I'm sure she got tired of Lincoln dragging her back downstairs whenever she got up, to go "play cars!"  Thanks for entertaining him!
