family photo session {mitchell's}

We had THE most perfect fall day, I mean just look at all the fabulous colors we were
able to get in these photos not to mention this gorgeous family!  We have known the Mitchell's for over 2 years now, met them when we first moved here and it's been so awesome to see their family grow.
We have been blessed by their friendship and I can't wait for Caedmon and Alex to grow up together :)

Enjoy!

this one is my favorite!

"you've got a friend in me"

After living in Wichita for 9? years for Tyler and 4 for myself, we developed some pretty great friendships over the years.  So when we were in Kansas City with my family we got to see some of them!  Tyler was just there for a day so we met up with his buddy David.
Him and his wife Amber just had a baby boy!  We got to meet sweet little Isaac.

Isaac and Caedmon just chillin'

Then I had the chance to drive down to Wichita for a night and hang out with some
pretty awesome people :)

All of us girls...some pretty sweet friends
Lydia, Sasha, Kendra, Kaely, Ashley and myself
miss you girls!

Zeke was cropped out of the above picture
He was making us all laugh as he just stared at us all taking a picture :)

My friend Lesley was in Iowa seeing her family,
so on her way back to Wichita she was able to stop and see us.
And we got to meet their newest addition, Boaz!
Caedmon was rude and slept. :)
Us and our boys
We were both in our first trimester, sick and pregnant with these two
when our two families took a vacation to Chicago last summer.
Then 7 months later... :)
Lincoln with Boaz's older sisters, Jordan and Rylie

I'm so glad that it worked out for us to see so many of our friends while we were back.  There's never enough time to see everybody but we squeezed in as much as we could!  Maybe that's why I ended up sick after all this? :)

Wichita, Nebraska and Uganda!

Today we're embracing the camera with friends and family from all over the world!  Well mostly just Kansas and Nebraska but one special guy from Uganda is in here too!

We spent the second part of our stay in KC seeing lots of friends and family.  I was so blessed to have three great friends from Wichita come with their kiddos to stay overnight with us.  The kids had fun playing together we us girls had a great time catching up!  I took lots of pictures so get ready!
Unfortunately 3 more of my friends were planning on coming but had last minute emergencies/sickness happen and couldn't make it.  We sure missed seeing Lydia, Kaely and Charlie though!

I finally got to meet sweet Zeke!  He is such a great baby.

Lesley found this leaf-like insect and the kiddos were so interested in it!  Lincoln held it for quite awhile without killing it, I was impressed! :)

While Lincoln and Riley looked at the bug, Jordan and Noah were doing their own thing!

super sweetness going on right here!

At the end of the week, Tyler's parents were able to make it down to see Lincoln.  He is so blessed to have such great Grandparents that love him so much!

And oh my, I finally got the chance to meet Rick and Kendra's 4 year old miracle boy!  They brought him home from Uganda in May.  I was fighting tears the whole time because meeting this little boy who we've prayed for, for 4 years is here with them and doing so well!  He's a charmer that's for sure.
Oh AND they just announced that they are adopted not 1 but 2 more little girls from Uganda.  Duncan's best friends from his orphanage!

Have I ever said how amazing adoption is?  Oh I have?  Well I'll say it again....it's AMAZING.
It's no secret, we plan on adopting a little boy/girl eventually....currently praying about what that looks like.

DUDE!

Thank you "Finding Nemo" and Tyler for teaching my son that a turtle says, "Dude!"
It's quite cute but I'm foreseeing his first day of Kindergarten and the teacher shows a picture of a turtle,
my son raises his hand and tells the whole class that turtle's say, "dude!"
That teacher is gonna think his parents are nuts.
Oh well....we are kinda nuts.
Oh and if Lincoln ever comes up to you and hits his head against yours, that's him doing "noggin" like
the turtle's do on "finding nemo."
Sorry in advance if it hurts, his father, again, taught him that one and he's only supposed to do that to daddy but I've gotten a couple noggin's along the way.

So for Halloween this year, Lincoln of course, got to be a turtle.  He wasn't so sure about it at first because the costume I ordered doesn't really look much like a turtle except the shell on the back but since it was green and green is his favorite color, he agreed to wear it!  phew!

We started out our Halloween with a playgroup  party with Lincoln's little friends.
We played with lions, monkeys, giraffes, fairies, pumpkins and even a football player and got our first fill of sugar highs for the day.

Later for trick or treating we went over to our friends house and Lincoln and daddy went with their three boys and Dan trick or treating while Megan, baby brother and I stayed at the house to hand out candy.

Baby brother even got to come out for the evening and wave to everyone! :)

My little turtle

And me with my two boys!

Before trick or treating and my turtle has found a sucker already!

The ninja and the turtle

Clark Kent, a pirate, a ninja and a turtle ready to go get some candy!

Tyler said Lincoln did a pretty good job and even said "trick or treat" and thank you at each house!
The boys were so excited that they ran to each house and since Lincoln is slow (and so are turtles, how fitting huh?) he went to every other house.

Here's a little video Tyler took on his phone of my little cutie :)
{remember to scroll to the bottom of my blog and pause the music so you can hear the video!}

crazy race

Last weekend Tyler, Linc and I all drove to Maryland so Tyler could participate in this crazy long relay.  He ran with 11 other of his old classmates for 200 miles between then all.  Tyler ran two 9 mile legs and one 3 mile leg and the race from start to finish took them about 30 hours.  Started Friday morning and finished Saturday afternoon....with one of them running at all times.  They had two vans that followed them along the way.  There were 280 teams that ran in this relay.  Unfortunately it wasn't a race very well suited for spectators so Linc and I spent the time hanging out with my friend Allie, her husband Craig and their adorable daughter Elise :)  We did get to see the last part of Tyler's last leg but I was cheering for him and forgot to take a picture.  Oops!

Here Lincoln is running to see daddy after Tyler was finally finished with all his running - notice his son's amazing running form, Tyler is sure proud! lol!

It was so cute to see Lincoln run to him like he did....can you tell Tyler is a bit winded? :)

At the end they all join the last runner and cross the finish line together.  They finished at National Harbor in D.C.  which was really fun to walk around after the race.

yay! they did it!!  yes those are vibram five finger shoes that Tyler is wearing and yes he ran in them the whole time.....and yes he is crazy :)

The whole team: "Running From the Law"
You guys rock....no way I could ever do this.

Didn't realize that the statue was "grabbing" at Tyler and Lincoln until I uploaded this picture....haha!

Had to include these last two for our friend Rick N. who LOVES peeps....there is a whole store for you at the National Harbor! :)

a shot of the inside of the store.....just for you Rick! :)
