a new place to call home

This past weekend, Lincoln and I flew into Baltimore for our 10 day stay out here.  Friday night we left Lincoln with our friends Craig and Allie and Tyler and I took off for a 6 1/2 hour drive to go find a place to call home.  We got there about 1:30am and then we up and ready to tour townhomes by 8:00am the next morning.  I had done my research and scheduled appointments with places that we thought were the most desirable and in our price range.  We were told not to buy a house right away so renting was our only option.  Moving from a house to an apartment is going to be tricky but we knew right off hand that we would need more room than a normal apartment.  We needed at least a one car garage not only for a car (we'll have 3 to figure out what to do with) but for the storage.  We toured 3 different places and fell in LOVE with one of them.  Here are some pictures from their website of the model townhouse.

This one is a little blurry but this is what the front of all the townhomes look like (I LOVE that we'll have a front porch!!)

(Sorry about the blurry again) A view of the living room from the dining area.  The front door is to the right of the windows)
Another view of the living room from the kitchen.  The hallway to the rooms is to the right.
A view from the front door.  LOVE that we'll have a loft for a spare bed and extra storage!
Dining area and the door behind the table is the laundry room
Kitchen (pretty small but that was the only down side to this townhouse.  I'll have to add some kind of table or something for a little "island" and extra counter space.
Master bedroom.  Full bathroom attached to it and another full bathroom in the hallway.
The community pool! :)  Awesome perk!

So they didn't actually have a townhouse available until the middle of October so since we are moving the first week in September, they have a "guesthouse" that you can use when you have guests come visit instead of them staying at the hotel or with you.  It's fully furnished and it wasn't booked at ALL for September so we will actually stay there for a little over a month and then when ours is available we will move in!

And you all are thinking, "what will you do with all your stuff until you get into your own townhouse?"
Well since we will have a moving company move the stuff, they will come pack it up when we leave and then deliver it when we need it!  Perfect!

I'll have to take more pictures when we actually move in and get settled so you all can see "our home."  :)  This is making it all seem so real.  Wow.

  2. That pool is going to be an awesome perk for you guys, and you don't have to take care of it. That's the ONLY way I would ever have a pool ... if I had a caretaker. I'm so glad you guys found a nice rest after 5 months apart.
