a few of my favorite things {beauty products}

We've been couped up with double ears infections and pink eye and colds this week.  I have the later AND with taking care of my two sickies I've barely had time to throw my hair up in a pony tail let alone get out of my yoga pants.  So all I can think about is how I just ache to "get ready."  I love getting ready in the mornings, weird huh?  But I do.  I love how getting "put together" makes me feel so good. So I've just made time for it everyday even if it means getting up earlier than my boys.  I do it because it's something I enjoy.  So I know you all are DYING to know what products I use.  :)  ha!  But humor me for a little while as I show you a few of my favorite things.

Kenra Hairspray
Hands down the BEST hairspray I've ever used.  It's just so great, I don't know what else to say!  I stocked up on it a couple years ago and am almost running out.....gonna have to find a good sale somewhere so I can stock up again cause this stuff is a pretty penny but worth it!  It's got fantastic hold without getting that hard/sticky residue in your hair.

AG shampoo/conditioner
My new favorite shampoo and conditioner.  It's retail value is insanely expensive.  My mom got it at an annual "liter sale" so they were $12 instead of the shelf price of........wait for it.......$50!  That's not a typo, yes $50!  Who would pay that much for shampoo.  Ok well I'm sure lots of people do but NOT me!  Dang.  But now I'm loving it so much that I'm hoping to stock back up at the annual sale :)  I got a liter of both shampoo and conditioner in August and the shampoo is probably a little over 1/2 gone and the conditioner is 3/4 gone so it lasts a long time!  And even longer if you have shorter hair (since mine is longer, I use more)

Mac Gel Eyeliner
I have my great friend Heidi to thank for this one.  I loved her eyeliner and eventually got up the courage to ask her what she used :)  It's a gel eyeliner that you apply with a brush.  And it comes in the most adorable container, I mean come on!  Totes adorbs.  AND it stays on all day.  WAY better than the other stuff I was using before

chi flat iron
this flat iron is amazing.  before I got it I had gone through a couple cheap walmart straighteners that would break after a year or so of use.  And they were also wider (between 2-3 inches) where as my chi is an inch wide which makes it more versatile.

bare minerals make up
Love everything about it.  It covers up zits and blemishes better than any make up I've tried.

pink fresh and clean perfume
My mom got me hooked on this as well.  I have both the spritzer and the perfume and love em both!  They smell amazing.  Terribly boring name (fresh and clean? seriously?).  But I can look past that just once I guess.  :)

What are your favorite beauty products?  I'd love to hear!

  1. Uh... you're too good. I LOVE spending half done pony tail days in my PJs on the couch bumming with my kiddos! And lets be honest... getting to work, as a RN at 6:45am... their lucky if I even wash my hair :) What I'm in search of is a recommendation for a good dry shampoo. And I want to try this fast dry shampoo my hair salon used last time I got my hair cut (9 months ago)!

I've been dying to try some bare minerals. I crossed the line into 30 this year & still spend not a $ on myself outside of Walmart. I'm pitiful & look like a "still coming into her element" 16 year old most days. But is on my 2013 to do list!

Hope those boys (& you) feel better soon!

  2. My sister just bought me some eyeshadow from sophora for Christmas and I love it..It came with a eye shadow primer which I now have to go buy because I loved it some much too :)

I'm a new follower :) Found you on She Reads Truth which I just discovered today, and your right, it's awesome.

  3. I love this post...mainly because if I wrote a post like this, well...it would be blank! Last time I got my hair cut (um, 9 months ago?) the person asked how I like to do my hair. My response: "I do absolutely nothing to my hair. I don't even blow dry it." Seriously...don't even know how to put on make-up! I need you to come and teach me how to do these things!

I'm not kidding...I really like this post because I don't have a clue!

  4. Have you tried the Mac eyeshadow primer?! Im obsessed. It's a daily must for me now for the last 4 years and I'm not one of those girls with a daily make up must. But its amazing. I haven't tried Mac eyeliner. I'll have to try that!
