12 weeks

awww, the weekly updates have begun.  didn't think i'd be doing these again this soon :)  but here we are and we couldn't be more excited.

Thoughts:  I just have to keep reminding myself that I will not be pathetically tired and sick for the rest of my life.  This is for a short time.  I will be my normal self again.  Eventually :)

Baby: he/she weighs half an ounce and is 2 inches long.  baby's reflexes are developing this week

Symptoms: man on man, how quickly one forgets the sickness from the first trimester.  Everyone always told me during my sickness with the boys that I'll forget about it once it goes away and of course I did forget how awful it was.  but now I fully remember.  With the other two I just "toughed" it out but this time around I asked my doc for some meds and the zofran has helped quite a bit if I'm sick during the day but my evening sickness is the worst and it hardly does a thing for that.  Going to sleep is my only relief and then I usually wake up feeling just fine.  I'm also super tired of course.  In bed by 9:30 at the latest every night.  My pregnancy pillow is my best friend already as my hips have started aching.

Weight: according to my scale I've gained 4 lbs.

Movement: none that I can feel yet but probably in the next few weeks

Sleep: Like I said earlier, I sleep every chance I get.  I wake up super achey.

Cravings/aversions/eating: craving mostly salty foods.  french fries from red robin with their seasoning sprinkled all over them, dipped in ranch.  i may or may not have eaten three baskets worth when we went last week.  (might be the reason for my 4 lbs?) :) mmmmm but it was so so worth it.

Workouts: workout?  what is that?  i was faithfully getting to jazzercise quite a few times a week until I saw that positive pregnancy test.  zero times since then.  once I feel better I'm sure I'll start back up.

Clothes: still in regular clothes but I see that changing soon.  already using a belly band for my jeans.

Random: I had an ultrasound this week and it was such a great appt.  Of course it was so awesome to see my baby.  I've never had an ultrasound this early on so it was so cool to see our little bean.  Baby would crouch down against my uterus and then push off of both legs and jump up and them just bounce around like crazy.  Love it!  I actually had a great time talking with my perinatologist at this appt.  He is the same one that did my ultrasounds with Caedmon and had HORRIBLE bedside manner.  This time he was fantastic.  Loved him.  And it was so informative.  He told me that he is pretty worried about me having another premature baby.  Since I'm 2 for 2 now.  Even though Caedmon's wasn't "bad," he's still premature so that is concerning for this time around.  I have a 40% chance of having a premature baby again.  So I'll be on progesterone shots once a week starting at 17 weeks until I give birth (yippee, not) and starting a vitamin regamin to help my membranes stay strong (they are what's holding the amniotic fluid in, premature rupture of membranes is what I had with Lincoln when my water broke at 24 weeks).  So it's not proven to help but it can't hurt.
I go back for the anatomy scan in 5 weeks and then it sounded like I'll have regular sonograms (hey I'm not gonna complain!) :)

Here are some of our baby's first pictures:
