Don't be confused by the fact that we live in Kansas. Tyler and I both grew up in the great state of Nebraska and have to stay true to our roots as Husker fans. So of course we have to pass down this loyalty to our son :) Lincoln got all decked out in his husker gear for the big game last Sat. but unfortunately the extra cheering that Lincoln did, didn't work and we lost. But Lincoln looked super cute in the gear that fit him! He's has some other super cute onesies and jackets but they don't fit him yet so we had to make due with a bib. Then if any of you know Tyler, during the winter months he wears his "skull cap" ALL the time so we had to take a picture of Lincoln in his "skull cap" matching daddy! I have a feeling that Lincoln is going to look just like his daddy when he grows up.

Growing, Growing, Growing
I absolutely love being a mommy and am so honored that God gave me the chance to be Lincoln's mommy. He is so sweet and a daily reminder of all God has done for us. I'm so lucky that I'm able to stay at home with him. This is exactly what I've wanted to do for so long! This is my dream job! :)
Things Lincoln is doing now:
-Holding his head up (he's been doing this for awhile now and I finally got a video of it but blogger won't let me upload it for some reason....if anyone has any ideas let me know!)
-Smiling!! He now has some real smiles and it just melts my heart every time he does it. :)
-Cooing and making all sorts of cute sounds.
-Standing....well not exactly but when he's crying and I'm trying to burp him I'll try to lean him forward on my lap and he'll lock his knees and just stand right up! All I have to do at that point is balance him. He is so strong. Must be because he couldn't just float around in water while he was inside of me, he had to work if he wanted to move at all. At least that's my theory...haha.
-Rolling from Tummy to back. He did this a few weeks ago and now hasn't done it as often. Maybe it was a fluke.
Well that's a quick update. I would blog more often but the times that I have to blog are when I'm pumping and then I only have one hand free to type and I'm not good enough yet to type quickly with one hand...I AM getting better though! :)

2 Months Already!!
My baby is already 2 months old! Wow I seriously can't believe it. So much has happened since July 6. Lincoln has been home now for over 3 weeks and it has been so great to have him home and be a family of 3 now. We're starting to get used to his schedule now and know what to expect at certain times. He's a lot more alert lately and not really acting like a 1 week old (adjusted age). He has rolled over from tummy to back multiple times now and continues to show us just how strong he is by holding his head up by himself all the time! I think he just loves to look around and figured out he can look around more if he lifts up his head! He is still sleeping in a bassinet is our room, it's just so much easier for the moment since he gets up so often at night. Well that's all the time I have to update you all.....Lincoln is waking up. :)

September 2 - Lincoln's Due Date
Our first family picture the day after Lincoln was born. 3 lbs 6.8oz 15 3/4 inches
Today is finally Lincoln's due date! I can't hardly believe this day is here and Lincoln is almost 2 months old. When we first got pregnant this is definitely not how I thought things would end up. Lincoln has sure come a long way since he was born and is over 7 lbs now. We are so blessed to have him and my heart just swells with joy as I stare at him all day long! I'm so honored that God chose to use us to show his amazing power and faithfulness. Lincoln is truly a miracle and I can't wait to see what God has in store for his life. I look at Lincoln and see the fingerprints of God all over him!
I can't even imagine what our lives would be like had none of this happened and I was still enormously pregnant and eagerly awaiting the arrival of little (or not quite as little as he was!) Lincoln. In my own mind that would've been the best way for all this to turn out. But that's just the thing, we all have it in our minds what the best way for a situation to turn out would be and if it doesn't turn out that way then it's wrong. But God's ways are not our ways. I'm so thankful that he decides how things are going to turn out and not me. Although it wasn't "ideal" it was his best for us. He can see things that we cannot and there is a reason why he allowed my water to break, for Lincoln to be born early, and for me to get sick. Sometimes he allows us to see why he has things happen to us but sometimes we won't understand completely this side of heaven.
