Christmas Blizzard 09

We drove up to Nebraska for Christmas Tuesday afternoon to beat the storm that was coming and good thing we came that early because it started snowing Wednesday and didn't stop until today (Saturday). I'm not sure how much we got exactly but the drifts are HUGE! Here are some pictures of the snow at my parents house. We were snowed in here Christmas Day and today. The electricity was off for about 3 hours total and blinked a couple times throughout the day yesterday. Thankfully it never went out for a long period of time! We had Christmas with my family Christmas Eve but every other Christmas that we were supposed to go to has been postponed :(

Only 1 more PT appt.!

The Physical Therapist that comes out to see Lincoln said that he is doing so well that she'll probably just come one more time in January and then he'll be done! Yay! She said as she was leaving last week that he is doing things more advanced than his age and I asked if she just meant his adjusted age which would be 3 months, and she said no his actual age! That was so nice to hear! Right now Lincoln is rolling from his tummy to his back really well and is starting to try to roll from his back to tummy. He just needs a little bit of help. He's gotten really good at being on his tummy and holding his dead straight up and even kicking and trying to move! He'll be crawling before we know it! We're working on sitting on his own right now. He does it every once in awhile for 20 seconds or so and then falls over so we just need to build those back muscles! So basically he is doing really well and developing just fine. What a blessing! I just love this little man soooo much!

Dr. Mroz

I took Lincoln about a month or so ago to go and meet Dr. Mroz. She was my OB during the whole pregnancy but isn't our family Doctor so she had seen Lincoln right as he was born but that was the last time. So we went to see her and I got an awesome picture of Lincoln looking up at her like he's saying, "Thanks for taking care of me and mommy during mommy's long hospital stay!" "You Rock!" She was an amazing Dr. and I couldn't have asked for anyone better. She made me laugh on days that I wasn't doing so well in the hospital and would always tell me straight answers to my questions. I'm so thankful for her and the great care she gave me!

Diaper Race

Okay so don't think I'm a horrible mom because I let Lincoln cry during this video. He got scared right away but it's such a funny video. This is what we do for fun on Friday nights :)

A Friend Traveling a Tough Road

This is my dear friend Julie and her little boy Ori. Please continue to pray for Julie and their little girl who is 26 weeks along that she will stay safe inside Julie for as long as possible. Julie went into preterm labor Sat. evening and was dialated to a 4 when they got to the hospital. She was put on Magnesium Sulfate to help stop the contractions. If you don't know what Magnesium is or what it does it is HORRIBLE to be on. Julie updated their blog today saying that she is now off of the Magnesium and her contractions have almost completely stopped! Praise the LORD! Her water hasn't broken like mine did so that is SOOO good and she has gotten both steroid shots to help develop her babies lungs faster. She will stay in the hospital until she delivers.

I'm so glad that I went through what I did with Lincoln so that I can now be there for her and completely understand everything she is going through, the fear, the unknown, the shock, the process of coming to the end of myself and Trusting God completely with my babies life.

Please pray for them that this will be a long stay for Julie in the hospital and that she can keep her baby in for as long as she can. Pray for continued peace for them and strength to make it through each day. I know how hard it can be to just lay in bed for weeks upon weeks.

We're Debt Free.......

.....besides our house! I just wrote the last check to pay off my last student loan! It's the best feeling in the world! Tyler and I just finished Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University class. It's a 13 week class that goes over the steps he has designed in order to become debt free and eventually build wealth so that we can GIVE! It was a really great class and I liked how he tells you each step you need to take. Before taking the class I knew it was good to pay cash for things instead of taking out loans and to eventually pay off your house and invest....and the list goes on and on but I had no idea where we should even begin or how we were supposed to go about any of it. Dave gives specific steps and an order to complete each step. It makes so much sense and really works! We are still working on staying on our budget :) We're getting better though, it's definitely not easy but so worth it to know where our money is going!

Lincoln's First Thanksgiving

We were able to travel up to Nebraska for Thanksgiving again this year. We had lots of fun spending time with both sides of the family! It's so nice that both of our families live in the same town so we just have to travel one place to see everyone! Lincoln got the chance to meet his Uncle Jarrod for the first time finally. I didn't get a picture of the two of them together, so I'll have to get those from Lynda but here are a few other pictures from our weekend.
