Sippy Cup!

Lincoln has finally given in to all my prodding and pushing the sippy cup!  He was so attached to his bottle and we're not 100% weaned off of it yet but we're pretty close!  His problem was that he just didn't recognize that the sippy cup had milk in it and the ones that I started out trying were ones that he would actually have to suck the milk out.  So he just wouldn't do it.  Then I switched to ones that had a "stopper" in them and took that out so it would just run out and he got the idea that there was something good in these cups!  So then Monday I switched to a cup with a soft top and he has to suck the milk out and he took to it right away!  I have to lean him up against something like the arm of the couch since he hasn't figured out that he has to hold it up to get something out of it.  He'll just sit there and suck air as long as I'll let him!  Silly boy!

Getting the hang of it!
We still dribble ALL over but we're working on that
I thought this was so cute how he held his feet up while drinking!
Mom, move over so I can see the TV!

Ok, I'm done with this were's my food?
Overall he's done great with it!  Since we're leaving for VA tomorrow I now get to take sippy cups (and just a few bottles)!  Yay for another big step accomplished!

We've got a big weekend ahead of us.  We're flying to DC tomorrow and then Friday Linc will stay with my friend Allie and her husband over night while Tyler and I drive (6 hrs) to Cleveland to go look at some townhouses.  We have a couple that we think we like just want to tour them and see the areas that they are in.  Then we'll drive back after all our tours on Saturday!  Whew!  Pray for us! :)  It'll be fun to have so much "talk time" in the car with my hubby!

corn on the cob

Eating Corn on the Cob for the first time.
With only 2 teeth...both on the bottom no less.
Equals licking the yummy butter off and playing with the cob :)

oohhh what is that?

I think it was a hit.  Or at least the buttery goodness was a hit :)
P.S. I could eat corn on the cob for my entire meal.  -Marie :)

krazy kona

While we are so up in the air on housing stuff and whether or not we're going to have enough space to bring Kona with us or not, Tyler's parents have graciously offered to keep her on the farm until we can take her.  Lincoln got some great slobbery kisses from Kona on Saturday and loved watching her run around the house!

First an adorable picture of my little Linc man

Krazy Kona (she really misses Tyler!)

Linc trying to "play" with her

This is her kind of play, her running around while you watch her :) (she's out in the gravel drive way)

Playing on the porch

Squirt is such a little squirt and just waited by the door until someone would let him in....Lincoln loved "petting" him
Just thought I'd upload a couple pictures to let Tyler see how his "girl" is doing.  She's well taken care of honey, don't worry :)

mohawk.

A Week in Wichita...

The week after Lincoln's birthday we spent in Wichita seeing lots of great friends.  It was so fun to see everyone that we were able to see and wish there was more time to get together with so many more people!  We miss all you guys!

Baby Cameron was born a couple days before we got there....just in time for us to meet him!

Such a beautiful baby

We went to the zoo with Kendra, Calvin and Fallyn.
Here is Lincoln watching the Giraffes while C and F fed them.

Linc and Calvin looking at the Tigers....roar!

Fallyn wanted to walk holding onto Lincoln's stroller the whole time, cute!

We got together with Julie, Orrin and Calla (remember praying for her?  She is quite the miracle baby.  Click here to read her story)
We met at the splash park in Newton but it was a chilly morning so we just sat and talked while Orrin and Lincoln played

And here are two more miracle babies.  Remeber Lily?  She was Lincoln's NICU girlfriend.  She is two days older than Lincoln so now they are both 1!  I'm so thankful I met Jenny while we were both on bedrest in the hospital she has truly been such a huge blessing to me.  Love ya Jenny!

After our week in Wichita, we "stopped by" Kansas City on our way home to see Aunt Hope and Uncle Derek.

Aunt Hope made some delicious pancakes...yummy!

Lincoln climbed into this basket all by himself!

We also did other things while in Wichita that I didn't get pictures of like eating/staying with our friends, the G family, swimming with Kaely, Lydia and almost Sasha and Noah,  hanging out with my old small group girls, got Lincoln's 1 year pictures taken and seeing a great friend and hearing all about their upcoming adoption!  Read about their journey here.  They are leaving at the end of this month to go meet their son for the first time!  Thanks to everyone for making our week so memorable!

Loving these weekends...

We are really starting to like the East Coast! Although I found out I'm not that great at driving out there!  My drive from Charlottesville to Gaithersburg was quite interesting.....lots of winding roads....LOTS of trees...and LOTS of highways intersecting = Marie ending up at the Metro Station instead of Craig and Allie's house....don't worry I eventually got there with Craig's help :)

Eating supper with Tyler Tuesday night on our way to Gaithersburg

Allie and I taking our babes for a walk (it was really windy)

Goin for a swim....Lincoln LOVES swimming but has NO fear so that scares mommy

Precious Elise getting ready to go shopping

Lincoln had fun "driving" the car while we were in the parking lot at the mall

He had so much fun "driving" that he was worn out!

I just thought this one was cute :)

Tyler, L and I were eating lunch at the restaurant in our hotel and Lincoln coaxed the hostess to give him two free bananas!

Smile hunny!

"Oh man!  My parents are so weird!"

At the National Zoo in D.C. - (Tyler makes this face quite often when I tell him to smile for a picture)

Lincoln slept the whole time we were there.  Thought he might want a picture of him there (in the future).  Elephant in the background and no Lincoln is not sweating, Tyler decided to run Lincoln through one of those mister thingys and Lincoln woke up screaming!  Nice one daddy :)

Dippin' Dots = LOVE

The hubs and I at the Zoo

Stocking up on snacks on the way back to the hotel

Virginia is for lovers...

...or for staying with Collin, Kim and Adelynn!!  We got to spend the first part of our trip out East with the Anderson's.  We had a lot of fun being in Charlottesville and Lincoln loved having someone to play with (or steal binkie's from, they did a lot of swapping!)

Playing together in Adelynn's crib

They both fell asleep while we were driving around Charlottesville trying to find an open coffee shop after all the electricity went out.

Lincolon LOVED playing on the air mattress and looking out the window

A lemon in one hand and a pickle in the other!

At Carter Mountain Orchard picking peaches!  "Movin' to the country gonna eat me a lot o' peaches" was in my head the whole time we were out there!

Lincoln anxiously awaiting his next bite of peach ice cream

Our family of three with the city of Charlottesville in the background

Lincoln LOVES remotes and he LOVES to hog the whole bed!

Lincoln followed Tyler around all weekend....he would cry if Tyler left the room for a second...

Collin and Tyler (great friends from high school) and their babies :)

Kim and Adelynn!

Lincoln was so worn out after church that he stayed asleep when I transferred him from the car to the crib

Great picture to embarrass them with when they're in high school :)

We had SO much fun in Virginia and thank you so much Anderson's for letting us stay with you guys!
