fathers day

Lincoln has a special message for his daddy on Father's day.....

Tyler, you are such an amazing dad.
I love watching you with Lincoln
and he just adores you.
I know this season in our lives in hard
but it's just that, a season and soon we will be together again.
Lincoln loves you so much and is so lucky to have a dad like you.
And I am so blessed to have you too :)
Happy Father's Day

And here are some more pics just because they are so cute:

I said "yes" to the man of my dreams when he asked me to marry him!  It's actually not until tomorrow but I'm not sure I'll have time to post.

"The Proposal"
We had been at the lake with friends who asked us to stay for supper.
Tyler said he had packed picnic so we left and he started driving.
We drove and we drove and we drove until we arrived in Fullerton, NE.
We pulled into a place called "Broken Arrow Wilderness."
He said we were going to go on a hike and have a picnic and my heart melted because he had planned a date for us.
We hiked and hiked and hiked and appartently we couldn't find the cross overlooking a cliff where he wanted to have the picnic.
Tyler asked if I had my camera and of course I had forgotten it...oops.
He knew I would want pictures so being the nice guy that he is, he ran all the way back to the truck to get it.
We returned and we found the cross and had a lovely picnic.
After the picnic he told me he wanted to read me a couple verses.
They were all about a husbands and wives and marriage...I was kinda starting to catch on.
And when I looked up he was on one knee and asked me to marry him!!
I was so happy that I started giggling.

Here we are in front of the cross right after he proposed, 5 years ago!

Then here is one of our engagement pictures.

Wow I can't believe it's already been 5 years since you proposed.
I've enjoyed every minute of it.
Even though we were young and not everyone agreed with us getting married so young,
I wouldn't change a single thing about it.
We've had plenty of our ups and downs and trials along the way
but they have only brought us closer together and strengthened our marriage.
I love you Tyler!

Lincoln had to nap in the hallway so Kelsey was "sitting" guard. :)

Lincoln was SO exhausted and fell asleep on Gpa Rempel's shoulder

ring bearer

Lincoln made such a cute ring bearer!  Here is a video of him practicing at the rehearsal.  He did such a great job!

My baby is 11 months!

You are 11 months old already.
Wow the time and sure flown by as I'm already planning your birthday party.
Here are some of your 11 month stats and things you are doing:
You weigh 17 lbs. 2 oz.
You had your first bad ear infection when you were 9 months and got over it at 11 months.
You are a FAST crawler now and into everything!
You can stand on your own every once in awhile for 1-2 seconds :)
You walk holding our hands very well and started to walk pushing your spiderman car.
You learned to clap your hands.
You know how to wave at people but don't always feel like doing it :)
You used to sleep through the night but then you got sick and you are still trying to figure it out again.
You are slowly weaning off of so much formula and eating more at your "meals" of solid food.
Your favorites are still squash, peas, bananas and green beans.
You've started to try to use a sippy cup but can't quite figure it out yet.
You can say, "dada, nana, and mama(sometimes)"
You finally got your first tooth!  It poked through right before we left to go see daddy over Memorial weekend.
Lincoln we love you so much and I love watching you learn new things.
You are so interested in the world around you and checking out all the different textures and how things feel.
You are a very curious child.
You are such a joy to have and can't wait to see how you continue to change and grow.

no pants to wear.

Hope's wedding is this Saturday.
I got fitted for my dress 3 weeks ago.
Had a minor adjustment made to it.
Got it back and didn't think I need to try it on.
Apparently big mistake.
Tried it on just for fun tonight and it would NOT stay up!
BIG Problem.
Called Deanna at Dream Designs.
She told me the seamstress was leaving
and to throw on a t-shirt over the dress and come in immediately.
I had just gotten out of the shower.
I looked like a wet dog.
I did what she said and threw on a t-shirt over the dress and ran out to the car.
I got there in great time and the seamstress did all her pinning.
(She took in almost 2 inches!  Yay for weightloss!)
Told me to take the dress off so she could take it with her to sew.
[insert blank look on my face here]
I HAD NO PANTS TO PUT ON!
We all laughed.
I was picturing myself running out of there to my car in just my t-shirt and newly bought spanx
(they work wonders by the way)
Deanna came to my rescue once again and brought me a lavender dress from downstairs.
Problem was fixed.  I went home....in a lavender dress.
Good thing I can laugh at myself.
Only in a small town  :)

I treated my sister to a massage today (and I had to get one while she was, of course!).  We both had a great time and it was SO relaxing!  More wedding stuff tomorrow, mani's and pedi's on Thursday, decorating on Friday and the the BIG DAY! :)  I'm so happy for them.  They are perfect for each other.

bed head...

The is what touring all day will do to you the next morning...

Lincoln has decided that he likes getting up at the crack of dawn lately.  So even though he had had a long day the day before he was up bright and early!  So we kept him in bed with us until he was ready to go back to sleep (he usually wakes up, plays for 1/2 - an hour and then goes back down for a morning nap).  So he went back to sleep all cuddled up with daddy and when I woke up I got up to go get my camera and when I came back this is what I found...I love Lincoln's bed head!  I love my boys!

weekend 2 [continued...]

The second weekend that Lincoln and I were there, my brother Trey and my parent's foreign exchange student, Rasmus, flew out to tour DC.  They had two days of touring and so Tyler, Lincoln and I went with them the first day.  I'm so glad we did, we had such a great time!  We did a LOT of walking that day and I woke up so sore the next morning....ouch!  Here are a couple pictures of what we saw...

Starting our day on the Metro from Gaithersburg, MD into DC

Our first stop was in front of the White House (although I think this was the back of it)
[don't you love the lady who decided to join in on our picture?]

WWII Memorial and the Lincoln Memorial/Reflection Pool in the background

Taking a bottle break but Lincoln was too interested in the annoying ducks that wanted our food...
...or maybe it was my brother who was annoying by leaving a trail of poptart crumbs right up to Lincoln and I...hmmm

Tyler's artistic side ;)

Behind us is the Washington Monument and Reflection Pool

My Lincoln in front of Mr. Lincoln
[I felt kinda funny saying...."Lincoln, look here!  Smile for the camera!" hehe]

Korean Memorial
[the burp rag on top was an attempt to help keep Lincoln out of the sun since mommy forgot sunscreen...
thankfully no sunburn for him....wish I could say the same about me!]

Washington Monument

Our only choice for lunch was McDonald's....so nutritious and refreshing during a long day in the sun! Not.
[and Tyler's hand look huge around that burger!]

We rode lots of escalators....Lincoln had a LONG day!

At Arlington Cemetery right after we saw the changing of the guard.

And back on the metro after a LONG but fun day of touring!

D.C. Trip Weekend 2

So we got back to Nebraska this past Tuesday and we had such a great time in DC seeing Tyler!  We spent our time during the week (we couldn't see Tyler those days because he had classes and it's over an hour drive away and we didn't have a car so....) with Craig, Allie and little Elise.  They moved from their apartment to a town house that week so it was crazy busy!  I just LOVE their new place and it's such a unique set up.  Then Friday came and we got to spend another fun weekend with Tyler!

Lincoln's gummy smile.  He's so happy to see Daddy again!

Lincoln loved playing with Daddy in the hotel

And playing at the park for the first time!
It was really crowded so we didn't stay very long but Lincoln loved the slide.....
you can't really tell from the picture but I promise he had a good time.

Attempt at a family picture in front of the fountain....I think Lincoln was more interested in a ducks on the other side :)

My two handsome boys

Lincoln was LOVING this lemon!

Lincoln discovered how to wiggle his legs so that his butt slides around on the tub....we were laughing pretty hard.
