a walking pro!

My little man is just getting SO good at walking!  It was just like one day he decided he was comfortable enough now to walk everywhere.  He now walks 90% of the time and is just as fast as he was when he was crawling.  He has even tried running a couple times....oh boy!  So I finally got a quick video of him walking like a "pro!" haha.  (please ignore the mess in the background, such is my life these days!)

Mommy's Sunglasses

Lincoln was playing with my sunglasses the other night and was so fascinated by them.

"Ok mom, that's enough for today."

I also got a little video of him walking with them on, we got a good laugh!  Not so sure what happened to make him cry at the end :(

Then he was sitting on Tyler and they had a little game going on where Tyler would put the sunglasses, Lincoln would take them off, fold them up and hand them back to Tyler.

15 month stats

We just got back from Lincoln's 15 month check up and he is doing great!  I already knew that but it's always nice to have a dr. tell you that too!  Well at this appt., unlike the one last week for his ear infection, he had to get naked for them to weigh him so he actually weighs 19 lbs. 8oz. and his length is 30 1/2 in.!  Percentile-wise that puts him at the 1.57 percentile for weight and 26th percentile for length.  Then this dr. was able to adjust it to his "adjusted age" and he was great on percentiles for his adjusted age (if he were 13 months  and born full term instead of 15 months like he is now).  For weight on his adjusted age he is the 5th percentile and for length he is the 50th percentile!!!  I couldn't believe it when she said he was in the 50th percentile for length!  We have a normal number!!  She wasn't at all worried about his weight or anything.  She got a small glimpse as to just HOW BUSY he is and saw it as normal  that he wasn't gaining as much now that he is moving nonstop.

She checked him all out (since this was our first visit to this new Dr.) and referred us to an Ear, Nose and Throat doctor since he is tongue-tied and we need to get that checked out and possible clipped so it doesn't disrupt any speech here in the near future.  She suggested NOT getting the flu shot for him which I was perfectly fine with and suggested we keep him backwards in his carseat at least until Christmas, to give him a little bit longer to get over that 20lbs mark! :)

After hearing all that happened in the pregnancy with Lincoln, she was just as amazed as I still am, at just how well he is doing!  She was floored that he was never on oxygen and never had ANY preemie problems.

He did have to get one shot but he took it like a champ!  Did cry at all!  That's my tough boy!

She rechecked his ears and they are well on their way to clearing completely up from the ear infection, we've still got 3 more days of antibiotics so hopefully that'll take care of it.

my little laundry helper

Lincoln like to help with things around the house when we play games with it.  I was finally catching up with laundry the other night and Lincoln was being a fabulous helper by throwing all the folded clothes across the room so Daddy thought we should just bury Lincoln with all the clothes.  Linc man thought it was so much fun!  He just laid there and laughed and laughed.

There's a cute little boy hiding under all the laundry?!
I would fold laundry 3 times a day if I found this cutie in it all the time!
"Folding laundry is fun, Mom!"

lions, tigers and bears....oh my!

Last Monday was Columbus Day and Tyler had the day off so we decided to go to the zoo!  It was a PERFECT day for the zoo.  It was cloudy, about 70 degrees (sprinkled for about 5 minutes but after that was great) and since it was cooler out all the animals were out and active!  I had never been when so many animals were out and about.  This was the first time that Lincoln actually showed some interest in the animals.  That made it so much more fun.  His favorite part was the aquarium and especially the sharks!  He was able to get up close to the glass and look in and just watched them for quite awhile.

Polar Bear out enjoying the waterfall :)
King of the Mountain
Lincoln looking at the Lion
I love how pretty all the leaves are this time of year!
Lincoln and I in the "petting zoo" area
LOVED this one!
and this one!
The cheetah's would walk around in a circle.  We stayed and watched for a good 15 minutes.
This was the best picture I could get of Lincoln and the sharks.  The room was so dark my camera couldn't focus really well.
At another aquarium
It's hard to see but there's a "Dori" (sp?) fish from Finding Nemo
The flamingos posed for me
Giraffes
Lincoln was more interested in his graham cracker than the giraffes
I think there were supposed to be wolves back there somewhere
Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer!
They weren't doing camel rides this day :(

We had such a fun time!

a HUGE milestone!

Ok so Lincoln's "HUGE" milestone is that he finally weighs 20 lbs.!!  20.2 lbs to be exact :)  Although we found that out under not so great circumstances (he has a double ear infection) it's still great news!  Does it matter that he was wearing all the heaviest clothes that I could find to put on him (it was cold this morning) PLUS a wet diaper?  I think that means we can finally turn him around in his car seat!  I really haven't minded having him backwards in the car as I was told by a car seat installer to wait as long as possible before turning them around because it's a lot safer to be backwards.  I just feel bad for him because I'm sure he would love to face forward and see everything.  We'll see though.  I'll probably still wait a little while before turning him around.

Have I mentioned that our new pediatrician is RIGHT across the street from our townhouse complex?  We share the same street address.  LOVE it!  We go next Friday for his 15 month check up and get all his stats done then but just thought I'd share this exciting and "weighty" news :)

READ THIS!

Read this blog post here.  My cousin and his wife Amy posted it on their blog and I read it with tears in my eyes.  Let me know what you think about it.

bubbles, bubbles, bubbles....

...but not bubbles in the tub!  While I was out (hitting up the 40% off sale at Gap to use my Groupon!) Tyler was nice enough to clean up supper and load the dishwasher.  What a sweet hubby!  The dishwasher was full so he decided to run it.  BUT instead of filling it with dishwashing detergent, he grabbed the dishsoap...

...And THIS is what happened

Bubbles EVERYWHERE!  Lincoln got to play in them for a little while....I'm sure he appreciated daddy's mistake (even though in the picture he looks pretty indifferent haha)
Oopsie!

the pumpkin patch

We decided this weekend was the perfect time for us to go to the pumpkin patch and apple orchard.  There is a great one not too far from us so we tried it out!

He looks so tiny compared to the huge pumpkin!  Look for the snack bowl in pictures below, it's like his security blanket he wouldn't let go of it!
Telling the bunny "hello"
Walking with Daddy
You can't really tell but there were two pigs in this pen
Miniature donkeys
Taking it all in...

He found this pine cone
It was so cool, we had to stop and play with it for awhile
We didn't get too close to this guys cage, he was sick of everyone looking at him
My big boy playing in a red truck (notice he traded the snack bowl for the pine cone)
I love how he's sitting here with the pumpkins, looks all grow up (we still have the pine cone!)
Checking out the stems on the pumpkins
"I wonder what these feel like?"
Cheesin' for mommy
No more messing around with the "little" pumpkins, we moved on to bigger and better pumpkins :)
...climbed a haystack...not really but we can pretend
Me and my favorite little boy playing on the pumpkins with our pine cone too!
He stood there for a long time telling the pumpkins all about something....it was like he was commanding them to "sit still and stay there" or something, they sure listened! hehe
Riding the hayrack ride out to the apple orchard
We picked a LOT of apples
Lincoln liked to "show" them to me
Daddy liked to eat them (notice the huge cheek, Lincoln liked to stuff as many goldfish as he can into his mouth, crazy kid)
Lincoln and mommy in the Apple Orchard!

We had such a fun day and it was PERFECT weather for it!
